I found my way to listen to podcasts: during my breakfast. In the evening, I'll prepare an episode of Rainmaker.fm about being a better blogger. I listen to it with my first cup. As I emerge to consciousness, I'm fully permeable to the lesson.
Very important is to acknowledge it. For me, it's often concomitant with back pain, or alike. I wind down immediately and arrange for 2 consecutive days with no computer, no cell, no Twitter and no Somewehere :), and ramp up wiser after the alert
